Aluminium is the perfect material for hose couplings, being light in weight (around two-thirds the weight of steel or brass with the same mass) but extremely robust and strong, as well as corrosion resistant. The Type C aluminium quick cam and groove coupler is compatible with, for example, Type A, F and DP couplings of the same size.
